BLUEWater
Design Group is responsible for preparing the master plan, conceptual
engineering and operational analyses for the implementation of a
1,000 plus slip dry stack boat storage system as part of this $60
million recreational marina development located in the Port of Los
Angeles. The development alternatives were prepared in strict adherence
to the development guidelines adopted by the Port.
In addition to the master planning,
BLUEWater Design Group has prepared, and has assisted the Port of
Los Angeles to prepare, the technical studies and impactanalyses
for this project element as required for the preparation of the
Environmental Impact Report for the overall development project.
The technicalstudies include site layout, geotechnicalconsiderations,
site access and circulation, parkingdemand requirements, dry stack
operationalanalysis, water side staging areas, vessel trafficimpacts,
as well as visual impacts and architecturaltreatments.
In conjunction with the public
planning input process, BLUEWater Design Group prepared further
building layout alternatives to study the potential for reducing
the building mass and site layout alternatives to minimize visual
impact potential. Careful attention was required during these further
studies to maximize the operational efficiencies andminimize loss
of storage capacity and construction costs.
