BLUEWater Design Group in association with a local construction team was selected in June 2001 by the Waikiki Yacht Club to design and construct the floating docks for the replacement of their 110-slip marina for vessels ranging from 22 to 60 feet. The specific site constraints made typical production dock systems unacceptable. The project consisted of a unique high strength aluminum frame dock structure with encapsulated foam floatation and large diameter anchor pile. BLUEWater Design Group developed the dock structure concepts and provided all design calculations and production drawings for this new and innovative dock structure as well as the anchor pile systems. The design work commenced in July 2001 and the installation was complete by December 31, 2001 according to the Yacht Clubs’ budget and schedule. BLUEWater Design Group provided all construction and engineering services.
